Appreciating nature is my strongest motivation for creating art. Growing up in Japan, I've learned to embrace the transition of colors in all seasons. The soft pink of spring cherry blossom, fresh green leaves of summer, bright orange from the autumn maples and beautiful white snow in the winter. Layers of colors on the panel represent the fundamental essence of nature's beauty I've experienced all around the world. In order to interpret those fragile memories, crushed glass is added to create reflections of lights along with grout to run as a bloodstream of my artwork. This art form of "Glass Mosaic" has taught me to treasure the small miracles in nature that we might overlook easily by getting caught up in daily lives. Every precious encounter with nature is preserved under glass forever for me and you to step back and remember to be thankful.
